SECTION 1: BOOKING & RESERVATIONS
Q: How do I reserve a bike?
A: Easy – book online through our website. Pick your bike type, choose your date and time, and pay securely online. You’ll get a confirmation and you’ll be all set to show up and ride.
Q: How far in advance should I make a reservation?
A: We typically plan our drop off and pick up schedule a day or two in advance, but reservations are first come, first serve and our calendar can fill up for weeks in advance. Our advice is “sooner the better”.
Q: Do I need to book in advance, or can I walk in?
A: We recommend booking ahead, especially during busy season and weekends – our bikes do go fast. That said, if you’re in the area and want to see what’s available, feel free to call us first and we’ll let you know what we have open.
Q: Can I change or cancel my reservation?
A: Yes. Please contact us as soon as possible if your plans change. Reach us at 941-769-6331 or jerseyjoe@jerseyjoesbikerentals.com and we’ll take care of you. We currently have a 48 hour cancellation policy. We get it, things happen.
Q: How do I pay?
A: We accept all major credit cards, cash as well as PayPal. Payment is handled securely online at the time of booking.
Q: When is payment due?
A: Payment is required before or at delivery. Bikes are only reserved once payment for those days is made in full – so be sure to complete your booking to lock in your reservation.

SECTION 2: BIKES & E-BIKES
Q: What types of bikes do you rent?
A: We offer two options:
Classic Bikes – Comfortable, well-maintained hybrid and cruiser pedal bikes perfect for around town, the Harborwalk, or Downtown Punta Gorda.
E-Bikes (Pedal-Assist) – Electric bikes that give you a boost as you pedal. Great for longer rides or if you just want to take it easy and enjoy the view.
Q: What’s the difference between an e-bike and a regular bike?
A: An e-bike has a small electric motor that assists you as you pedal – it doesn’t do all the work for you, but it makes pedaling noticeably easier, especially on longer stretches or when you’re tired. You still ride it like a normal bike, just with a helpful boost.
Q: Do I need any experience to ride an e-bike?
A: Not at all. If you can ride a regular bike, you can ride one of our e-bikes. We’ll walk you through how it works before you head out.
Q: Are the bikes well-maintained?
A: Absolutely. We keep every bike in our fleet clean, tuned, and road-ready. Your safety and comfort are our top priorities.

SECTION 3: RENTAL DETAILS
Q: How long can I rent a bike?
A: We offer flexible rental periods – 4 hour, full-day, weekly, even monthly options are available. Simply check your cart for current options and pricing.
Q: Do you require a security deposit?
A: Yes, a hold will be placed on your card for the full retail value of your rental. The hold expires immediately after inspection at pick up – so as long as everything looks good, you won’t see any charge beyond your rental fee.
Q: What happens if I damage the bike?
A: Accidents happen – First thing- Get medical attention!. We can replace a bike but we cannot replace you. Any damage beyond normal wear and tear may be charged against the hold on your card. Please review our Terms and Conditions for full details.

SECTION 5: RULES & SAFETY
Q: Can I ride on the beach?
A: No – riding on the beach is prohibited by law in this area, and doing so will result in forfeiture of your security deposit. Stick to the trails, paths, and streets and you’ll have plenty of gorgeous scenery to enjoy.
Q: Do I need a helmet?
A: We strongly encourage wearing a helmet. Please check Florida’s helmet laws before your ride – riders under 16 are required by law to wear one. Ask us if you have questions.
Q: Are there rules I should know before riding?
A: Yes! We have a full Rules of the Road page on our website with local bike and e-bike safety tips, rules, and laws for the Punta Gorda area. Give it a read before you head out – it’ll take 5 minutes and could save you a headache.
